Silver Skin
tiefkeller
Skulpturenpark Museum Haus Opherdicke, 2022
For the sculpture park, tiefkeller, the artists' collective consisting of Kathrin Graf and Bettina Marx, has developed large-format ceramics that were created by moulding the old beech trees that had to be felled in the park by Museum Haus Opherdicke in autumn 2021. The brightly coloured glazed, thin-walled, bassin-like clay forms are embedded in the earth's surface and form a lively contrast to the massive, sawn-off beech trunks that are also part of the outdoor installation. The shaping, location and glaze of the ceramics connect with the surroundings and at the same time stand out from them, appearing artificial and organic at the same time.
At the opening, the artist duo Artist Mukbang (Liza Dieckwisch and Julia Gruner) participated with a performative installation with edible elements involving the audience.
