body casts II
The works are part of a series dealing with the interaction of water and mineral.
They are a further development of the series "Body Cast I" and are also created by casting my body surface.
While I smoothed and glazed the surface in the 2019 series, I now refrain from doing so. Instead, the processing traces may remain visible. The coloration is the result of utilizing the capillary effect. The fired ceramic absorbs water particularly well and soaks up with it. Placed in colored water baths, the ceramic collorates by itself.
For me, the movement properties of matter are closely connected to the body and its emotions. The word "move" describes both movement and being emotionally in-motion. Movement is a dynamic phenomenon that is transient and contrasts with the current striving for security.
